Does anyone have a claim for a Ju 88 over the Med/off African Coast on the above date?

Hi Chris

I've been through all my RAF/Commonwealth victory lists and can't find anything. Could be USAAF? Or a quick call to Chris Shores may help - he has more up-to-date lists for MED 1944.

Chris,

I do not show any USAAF claims for this date. The closest I have is a claim between 2300 Sept 4, and 0035 Sept 5, for a damaged Ju-188. The location is given as "scramble from Falconara". This was by a crew of 255 Squadron flying a Beaufighter VIf. I would be doubtful that it matches your loss.

For what its worth, it was not claimed by GCII/7, which was very active at this time.
