Do 217 K-1 WNr 4412 unit and pilot identification

6 Attachment(s)
Dear all,

From an expired Ebay-auction, can anybody identify the unit and the decorated pilot (an Oblt) of Do 217 K-1 W.Nr. 4412? (See attached pictures)

Personally I'm thinking of KG6, as 1./KG66 lost a "sister" aircraft (W.Nr. 4408) on 1 July 1943 near Orléans which still carried the KG6 aircraft code (3E+MZ)...Ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Marcel

Hi Marcel,

I think it might be KG 2 as the officer in photo No.3 looks very like the KG 2 CO, Walter Bradel.

Regards, Sean.

Doesn't look like Bradel who did not have the DKiG. He would have had the RK (awarded 17 Sep 41) by this time

Hi Chris,

Not the seated, decorated officer but the " officer in photo No.3 " ?

Regards, Sean.

This Do 217K-1 W/Nr 4412 was from Stab/KG 2 at Soesterberg .
Was lost in July 1943 for the British coast.

Decorated pilot possibly Hermann Hogeback ?

This is not him either & in any case he didn't fly with KG 2 (assuming the photos are linked). My guess is he was an NCO pilot in Spain (hence Spanish Cross) and commissioned/awarded DKiG?
