1/606 Do 17 crashed on a beach

A number of photos of a Do 17 Z of 1/606 on a beach have appeared on eBay in the past year. It would now appear that the code is 7T+NH; anyone have any ideas as to the identity?

Chris,

When I ran this against the EoE photo DB, I found two possible FL a/c from this unit. One is clearly 7T+HH, which had extensive areas of black over the prominent markings. This a/c probably landed intact during the fall of 1940 or winter of 1940-41. It carried the unit insignia at least on the port nose, and white prop spinner tips. Based upon your 07.04.14 TOCH post about this I have it as W.Nr.2797 down on 11.10.40. It apparently was re-gassed or repaired and later flew back to base. I have a photo of it apparently successfully taking off from the beach. I have 6-7 photos of this a/c. in the DB. There is a possibility that I'm confusing photos of two different a/c here. One +HH has bullet damage from the rear and obviously hit something in the air, damaging the port stabilizer. Looks like it might have hit a balloon cable. Are there two different a/c here?

Larry

My photo is from the port side. Blacked out markings, no badges, port engine ripped off, cockpit and tail smashed. The HH photos I have show it back at base pretty shot up-not the same as this photo

Chris,

I'm going to send you some of my photos directly so we can compare notes. I'll need to be able to do color profiles of at least seven different 1./KGr606 a/c from 9/39 to 12/40, so shorting these out and getting them dated is important for the EoE project. I suspect that we both have some of the same photos, but others that are not.
