Raum 7 : the history of Florennes Fliegerhorst '42-'44

Hello,

With some pleasure, I let you know the release of the long-awaited book about Florennes airbase creation, written by my friend, Florennes local researcher, Roland CHARLIER.

This book (of more than 400 pages) is the fruit of nearly 30 years of researches full with unpublished pictures, recollections of former airmen (now all deceased) and anecdotes.
It emphasies on the local life deeply influenced by the Raum 7 network, the Florennes fliegerhorst creation but also from the bombings and air warfare in the area.
Roland has the chance to work on with our mutual friend Jean-Louis ROBA, one of the sharpest Belgian Luftwaffe researcher who made pionnered interviews of former Luftwaffe members in the '80.
Roland received also help from some TOCH members too, thanks to Bill, Theo and others who all deserve thanks from Roland.

You can order the book at a very affordable price (about 30 euros + posting), drop me a PM and I let it know to Roland.

Beware, it is written in French (no translation planned), a good way to learn our language!
ISBN 9782960149500

Roland is also author of a acclaimed book dealing with the Meuse crossing by the Germans in May '40 and describing precisely one of the first tanks battles of WW2, almost unknown.

Enjoy.

ClinA-78:

Is there a link or something about the author's other book on the Meuse crossing? I have a friend who might be very interested. Is it also in French?

ClinA-78,

Sounds like a very fascinating title. Will it be available through any booksellers such as Christian Schmidt? As much as I might like to buy directly from your friend, the currency exchange hassle can get very expensive.

I'll second what Jim P said. I'm in for a copy if I can pay via PayPal or get it from Christian Schmidt.

Regards,
Leon Venter

The dealer is the author and the local shops.
Best way is to drop me PM and I will forward it to Roland.

The price (with shipping) remains very affordable, specially for such a topic.
