Amazing shots , thank you ! some 12 years ago I built this fantastic WWII fastest German fighter eventhough I am not a modeller, then even saw a flight worthy restaurated 335 at Friedrichshafen. I am attaching a shot of my models.

Re: captured Do335 on ship
In the Smith/Creek book on the Do335 there are two more photos of them being lifted onto HMS Reaper.
The 335 in the background is an A-02, WNr 240102 (#35) and the other is an A-1, WNr 240161 (#8). #35 went to the USN. The wings from #8 and the fuselage from #35 were mated and this is the a/c that is on display. |

Barges are situated in the Baie de Querqueville (Just W of Cherbourg) and the airfield of Cherbourg-Théville cannot be seen in this picture, but was located just outside this frame to the right. The airfield has disappeared and was situated near what is now called Pointe de Querqueville. The hangars of the airfield ("Cherbourg-Querqueville") and the water tower next to one of them were close to the Fort de Querqueville... Greetings, Piet Bouma The Netherlands |
