Re: Photo captured Fw 190 1945
Hello Rémi,
Thanks for posting this exciting photograph. I can’t prove, but I think your Fw190 may be the same Fw190F-9, 11+ red or yellow, photographed at Faßberg along with the five famous Me262’s. Note the similar red or yellow plane numerals 11, and what appears to be the merest hint of the same numerals on its wheel covers. Along with matching plane numbers, it also features a right-wingtip-mounted pitot tube, late-war NDW-style camouflage, and a wooden propeller. Finally, notwithstanding the poor quality of the posted print, I believe I see traces of the same flower-style exhaust stack flame suppressor as noted on Fw190F-9 WNr. 440382, 10+ red or yellow, which was also found at Faßberg. Hi Steve,
Do you mean that we have a photo proof that W.Nr.440571 was 11+ ? If yes, could someone tell me where to find it ? thanks, Olivier |

here is Fw 190F W.Nr.440571 yellow or red 11+ from an unknown NSGr pictured at Fassberg.

Ah ok, Thanks Olivier! (And no Sergio, I was looking for the other one:))
I have to say there is a high likelyhood indeed, that this tail could belong to "Yellow 11". But I don't know whether one can be totally sure about it... |
