Looking for Bombload of 49 squadron (12-12-1943)
Dear researchers
At the moment I try to reconstruct the crash of a 49SQ Lancaster (JB545) who came down in the night of the 16th/17th of December 1943. It was shot down by a German night fighter (Oblt Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer, 1V./NJG1). I have look in several documents at the Kew archives but could not find out what the bomb-load was for this bomber on this specific mission. Maybe someone could be helpful. I only knows that a farmer found some 4lb incendiaries on the crash side. I thank you all in advance René From Wolvega (Holland) |

Hello,
Usually you can find more details about the bomb load on the loss card of the specific aircraft. Unfortunately I cannot find a loss card for the JB545. Kaczmarek |
