Re: Me 262 photos + 3-1
The first photo (of the two jets) is ex-JV 44 and at Innsbruck after early May 1945. The following three photos are all at Lechfeld.

Re: Me 262 photos + 3-1
Hey Dan:
The JV-44 machine in the background of the first photo appears to be "rot" 1 with a white outline. Any ideas as to who's machine this might be? Thanks |
Re: Me 262 photos + 3-1
Hi John, doesn't look red to me. The light colored rudder top seems like KG 51, but a few KG(J) 6 also did that as did a few KG (J)54, and two KG (J) 54 jets did escape to Innsbruck. It's a new one to me :-) There were at least 22 JV 44 jets flown to Innsbruck, and this is a new one to me.
If I had to bet, it's KG (J) 54...KG 51 was still using bomber codes. |
Re: Me 262 photos + 3-1
Hello Dan,
I am most curious about the one that has V 1 and V 9 markings. Why both? Ed |
Re: Me 262 photos + 3-1
Ed,
The V1 is actually VI, part of the stammkenzeichen, I believe. I think the full STKz is VI+AD (from memory so Dan, please correct me) Chris |
Re: Me 262 photos + 3-1
VI+AD is correct Chris, 130004.
