Me-109E-1 Details for Modelling?

Hello All,

First time on the forum. I have enjoyed the exchange of info and insight here. I realize this is not a modelling forum, however, I wonder if anyone could assist with a couple details of the Me-109E-1, specifically, views of the lower wing access panels for the MG17's. Of all my references I have not a single clear photo depicting this area as a guide to rescribe my E-3 kit. I have a scrap view diagram in the Aeroguide book on the subject, but I'd like additional reference. Any assistance with photos and/or diagrams, etc. or direction to same, is greatly appreciated. Same for any outstanding cockpit details, especially around the seat area. Thanks.

TC

On the lower part you should remove bulget from the wing cannon and place there engraved panel. This is some 10 mm long in 1/48 scale. In the wing leading edge should be visible hole for the 7.92 mm machine gun. There is also vesrion Bf109E-1/B with bomb rack under the cetre plane for the ETC 500 bomb.Windshield had rounded in top section and transparent, as on E-3. Cockpit interior is the same as on the E-3 but have to note that from the E-3 interior became RLM66 and before RLM02 was inside.

The weapons access panels for the E-1 are on the wing upper surfaces. On the bottom are the cartridge discard chutes with servicing panel on either side of this and closer to the rear of the wing. And, don't forget the hole in the leading edge of the landing flaps for the rear of the machine guns.

The E-1 stayed in production longer than the E-3. The E-1/B (at least those built in mid-1940, after production of the E-3 had ceased) had the angular windshield/canopy.
