acft ID
The attached photo depicts a Soviet aircraft
captured after a belly landing somewhere in Ukraine . Any idea regarding the type ? |
Re: acft ID
It looks to me like a Heinkel He 111 bomber.

Re: acft ID
I think it is a He 111. Why do you think it is a soviet plane?

Re: acft ID
An early model He111 B(??).

Re: acft ID
Thanks all for your feedbacks. Yes and I may agree on earlier HE-111 model. Gabor , why do I think Russian ? I don't think nothing my collegue from Simferopol thinks so . I am unable to ident with covered front dome and cockpit, thats why I asked. Attached B /E version as possible candidate

Re: acft ID
Yes, it makes sense. BTW, the sharp lines in camo on the wings were very popular on earlier Heinkels. It can be an early 'B' or so. Cheers,

Re: acft ID
Thanks Gabor and yes fully agreed, also since I am not an expert
on the HE, do you know based on what technical or performance issues the Luftwaffe Ruestungsamt elected after the Spanish civil war despite the battle proven B & E series to opt for the uglier and full glass cockpit version as standard equipement ? |
