Ar234-kill/Freemans "Mighty 8th", 1970/p.219
On 03-14-1945 2nd Ltd Robert E. Barnhart (360. FS/356. FG) shot down the empty autopiloted Ar 234 in the area around Bielefeld, after pilot Feldwebel Bäumler bailed out (P-38 damaged his Arado before).
Photos and a brief report are issued in Roger A. Freemans book "The Mighty Eighth", 1970 - page 219. Can anybody confirm this? Did Barnhart watch the crash after he opened fire? I am looking for any hint regarding the crashsite of this Arado. Best Regrads, TCO |
