Ju 88 WNr. 3599 and Bf 110? WNr. 3836

Gentlemen,

Can someone help pin down these two aircraft and any information on sub-types, unit, crew Vkz., reason and place of loss etc please?

I think the Ju 88 was an A-4 and while the Bf 110 I'm not completely sure on but perhaps it was an E-1. Both are mid-war a/c

Further details on these two aircraft would be very greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Thanks guys,

Though why would a Kuestenflieggergruppe be using a land-based heavy fighter? Not the most useful of 'hack' aircraft. Anybody know if it was an operational flight or if Hagenow was a member of the Stab on business someplace? Or even how a unit such as this came into possesion of such an aircraft?

Thanks again

With regards to the use of a Bf 110 as a courier aircraft.

Not so strange in my opinion, as this had a relatively long range, was reasonable fast and many of the units needed an aircraft that would take them from the Gefechtsstand to land bases.

Also, some of the coastal units used this aircraft both as a bomber and as a recon aircraft. (also as a Fühlungshalter as it was named in german).

I will check the units records from this period and see if it was used as a unit hack or for other purposes.

Andreas
