FW200 PICTURES
 

Hi Guys

I just obtained these two original pictures of the FW200 D-AWSK.

I would be inclined to say that it could be MSN 019 (F8+BU then F8+LV) lost on 2 June 1942 near Zante Island, would you agree with this ?

I was told (but still to be confirmed) that these pictures could have been taken in Lyon airport : could somebody confirm this ?

This Fw 200 flew from September 1940 until early 1941 for the Waffenstillstandskommision, based at Wiesbaden. Aircraft of this unit performed many flights to towns in Vichy-France to bring officers for a meeting.

- Base moved to Orleans/Bricy (France) - loaned III/KGrzbV 1 (Savoia Staffel) 04.05.1942 (with Ofw. Walter Riepold of 8./KG 40 and his crew for transport operations between Benghazi and Lecce) - Forced down due to fuel shortage near Sakinthos Island, Greece 02.06.1942 (Ofw. Walter Riepold killed)

and after further search in France, I can tell you that the place where these pictures were taken is Aulnat, the airport of Clermont Ferrand.
