Aircraft loss, 1st July 1942, Spitfire AB806
Hello Battlefield Detectives,
Wondering if anyone can verify if this airplane was accidentally shot down by the Westhampnett Spitfire Wing. Could it be No. 129 Sqn or No. 340 Sqn? |

Hi,
I was indeed 129 Sqdn, Sgt Reeves RCAF being involved in it. The ORB mentions that this regrettable event was caused by the fact that 2 Sections from different Sectors were vectored to the same enemy aircraft and met eachother. Regards, Hans |
