Gentlemen,

Feldwebel Georg Spring of SG-77 was awarded the German Cross in Gold on May 17,1943 and the Dive Bomber Operational Clasp with Pennant a few months later for completing over 400 combat sorties. How many sorties in total did Spring flew before he was taken off operations for Fw-190 training? He was killed in June of 1944 during the training.

Sincerely,

Edward L. Hsiao

Feldwebel Georg Spring was a Stuka pilot with StG77 and SG 77, he was killed during a training mission on 26.06.44 when his group converted to the Fw 190F-8.

Feldwebel Georg Sprint was trained as a fighter bomber pilot (first accident flying a Fw 190 on 4.06.43 and than he flew missions with I./SKG 10 against the UK. His two crashes are already listed in post #2.

Edward

I have many of the award citations issued to Georg Spring (I am missing his EK 1 Urkunde) along with some associated documents and portrait photographs.

Unfortunatly, his Soldbuch, Wehrpass, Leistungbuch or Flugbuch are not present so I cannot say for certain when he ceased operations before starting conversion training for the Fw 190.

Regards Richard.
