P-47 recovery in Baden-Baden area

During an recc.flight of P-47 D of GC I/4 "Navarre" two collided in the air. One aircraft with ist Pilot Capitaine Antoine Allard crashed into a hill.

The aircraft and Pilot went about four to five meters deep in the ground. They were never recovered.

Tomorrow morning, starting at 8 o`clock the aircraft and the remains of the Pilot will be recovered by members of "Arbeitsgruppe Vermisstenforschung (C.S.I. Germany) together with Researchers from a Normandy based Group and also reservists of the german army.

There also will be a Group of seven members of "Navarre" from Nancy airfield joining the recovery. Hopefully members of Allard Family will be there too.

The whole recovery will be coverd by german and french media.

We are still looking for Information about GC I/4 "Navarre" and the Pilot Antoine Allard who was Born in 1920 in Paris/France.

Who is able to help with Information. Thanks
