My copy has just arrived and it looks like it will build into a great series. It is filled with details, combat & intelligence reports, aircraft colour profiles and each day begins with a piece of colour artwork depicting a moment in time.

Looks a great series, and I would buy the lot in a tick, BUT 10 volumes?. Forget it. They will never get finished. This series could have been done in two or three books easily. A case in point would be William Green's recently revised "Warplanes Of The Third Reich". Where is volume two and three?
Or another example is how one CAN put a lot into one book. I am referring to a book I have ordered, "Kursk" by Lawrence, which at over 1700 pages will be the largest military book ever published....
The BOB books are a measly 125 pages each. However they are the kind of BOB books I have dreamt about. Just perfect in every way, except for the crazy formula adopted....

I'd imagine that the 10-part approach has been influenced by the Luftwaffe Crash Archive series and if those have been successful …

The Crash Archive is now up to 7 volumes. The differences between the two series is that in the Crash Archive the details relate to the aircraft that crashed whereas in the new series the details relate to the combats that took place - formations, flight profiles etc. The sample pages on the Wing Leader page give a good idea of what each day constitutes in the new books.
