Thanks for pointing these two sites, I didn't know the first.

For the second, most if not all losses listed have been duplicated into another site that may interest you:

http://www.crashplace.de/

It is a database that you may complete online, currently listing a little over 8000 crashes in WW2 era. Data may be minimal or extensive depending of the source. I'm one of the two administrators of the database, and my usual habit is to correct (if necessary) and add data (if possible) to the entries done by others. So for some of the B-17E listed in the site above you will find crewlists and so on.

The crashes I inserted or amended will always be on the following format:

(Text)

Source:
(list of books and sites used, or of people that replied on Internet forums).

A good part of my "corrections" is just to add the credit part. There is still much to do for this part.

Thanks, Dan. It was started by a German guy and I found it really a ggod idea so I contacted him and proposed to assist him. He is managing all the database informatic side, and I am managing the contents.

It is typical of the Internet, with very good posts and some very bad. One aircraft was listed 5 five at one moments, with 3 different crash dates. Just supressing double occurences (in fact combining them) takes some time.
On the other hand, I allready contacted several people via this database, as they posted the fate of the aircraft they flew themselves, or members of their family did.

This site was publiziced here for the last time maybe one year ago...
