Kursk: The Battle of Prokhorovka [off topic]

Scheduled for October. I can't believe the size of this book. From the Stone & Stone site:

News from Colorado

14 September 2015
Aberdeen Books plans to publish in mid-October Kursk: The Battle of Prokhorovka by Christopher Lawrence. Advertised as a staggering "almost 1700 pages," the book will include "29 fold-out maps, 94 maps in the text, 41 charts, graphs and diagrams, 166 tables, 194 statistical sheets covering each engagement, 100 separate sidebars of discussion, 66 German and Soviet commander biographies, and four photo sections with 289 photos."

I trust the publisher knows what he's doing and wish him luck.

Usual disclaimer,
Ed

This book is most probably the final word on the topic. The publisher definitely knows what he is doing.

Apparently it weighs in at 13lbs and is already nearly sold-out from pre-orders.

From RZM it is $220 (although it does say on the Aberdeen Publishers website it would be $175 for Aberdeen customers) - and that is before shipping!

Based on the description, and if I had an interest in this particular topic, at about 1,700 pages, it's a fair price. I would suggest getting it before it ends up on the 'secondary market.'
