New picture of Me 262 A-1a WNr. 170071
Gentlemen,
I found this picture today on ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/WWII-US-GI-Ph...item235969f6a8 It seems to be a new photo of Me 262 A-1a WNr. 170071 "White 2" with the nose of Me 262 A-1a WNr. 111617 "White 9" in the background. The white gravel path identifies it as being along the autobahn at Hofoldinger Forest. My question: Is the numeral a Yellow 2 with a white surround? Best regards, Jim Geens |

After Photoshopping it a little, I'd say it was white 2 with a very thin black outline (if any).

I did not know WNr 170071 and 111617 were found so close together along the Hofolding Autobahn. This makes it most plausible Wnr 170071 was dumped at Brunnthal gathering ground, too. Maybe there´s an unidentified Me 262 wreck?

Re: New picture of Me 262 A-1a WNr. 170071
Thanks, Nick.
The reason was that I had seen black and white pictures of He 162 WNr. 120222 and was suspicious. I'll keep WNr. 170071 as a "White 2". Thanks again, Jim |

Yes, there is was a Me 262 wreck in middle of the wreckpile, but area on fin is empty (left side). Two more Me 262 wrecks were discovered recently, bringing wrecks there up to seven - where of, there were two (burned) and tails only. Most (6) Werk-Nr.´s will be in book in progress. -Ed
