Luftwaffe Schellenbaum Wünstorf Banner
2 Attachment(s)
Hi, Excuse me if this is not relevant to this forum but I am trying to research the history of a flag/banner I have in my possession which was passed on to me by my late Father who passed away a number of years ago.
It has written in silver embroidered letters Fliegerhorstkommandantur Wunstorf, I must admit for years I thought it was Munstorf? Can anyone help me with any information about what it was used for. Many Thanks Paul. |

It would hang from the top of a 'Jingling Johnny' which would lead the units musical band. Just google 'Schellenbaum' and you will see various examples from various eras and countries.

Hello Paul,
on your "Flag" is written "Fliegerhorstkommandantur", so member of a staying "Geschwader", sure member of a "Fliegerhorst", any place. Let me say, in my mind, German military orchestra where more present on level may "Geschwader may Gruppe". Dan, your picture shows in front a group of "Fanfaren", let me say not the way. Please my five cent. Best regards Manfred |
