Seeking date fall-wnter 1940 when Hptm Walter Adolf, II./JG26 Gr Kdr landed on beach at Cherbourg, France

Hello,

For EoE profiling purposes I'm trying to establish the date that Hptm Walter Adolf, the Gr Kdr of II./JG26, ran low on gas while apparently returning from a sortie to England and landed on a beach in the Cherbourg area of France. It was refueled there from gas drums and apparently was able to take off again. This was believed to have happened sometime late in 1940, as soldiers in the area were dressed for chilly weather.

We have some photos of this incident, but lack one showing any scoreboard that might have been carried on the port rudder. The starboard rudder is solid yellow, but does not appear to carry any scoreboard for this Knight's Cross winner. Does anyone have photos of the port rudder and any scoreboard that might have been there?
