The aircraft was correctly identified by Falcon but unfortunately the unit is wrong: 3./JG 77 "yellow 11", shot down by Allied fighters on 8.Feb.44 near Verona, Uffz. Helmut Jalmfeld save.

Many thanks Merlin for the kind reply.

I was in fact intrigued since the third volume of Prien's work on the JG 77 does not report any data on the other two losses occurred in combat on 08.02.1944 besides that of Fw. Krueger, so I had to guess there was clearly more somewhere else...

Your highlight to an ULTRA source shed light on the matter.

BTW, I guess that the ULTRA was at Kew's National Archives... is there any archival reference? Thanks again
