The last victory of Marseille on 26.09.42?
I wonder, who was the last victim of Hans Marseille on 26.09.42, his name?
It was a Spitfire from 145 or 601 Squadron RAF. His oponent was a very good flyer, fought very tought and long. mw |

No British losses have been found that can be linked to this afternoon combat, in which he claimed 3 Spitfires. Flt. Sgt Barker of 145 Sq claimed one Bf109 damaged in this combat.
In the morning he also claimed three Spitfires: British losses were one Hurricane of 213 Sq and two Spitfires of 92 Sq. Source:Christopher Shores et al: A History of the Mediterranean Air War 1940-1945 Volume 2, Grub Street 2012. |

Thanks, it is strange? He had returned from this mission very exhauted, and told that his oponent was killed in the combat and he was very smart/excelent pilot. His enemy oiloted the "Spitfire"?
Quite strange situation? regards, mw |
