Info on He 111P, W.Nr. 3122, 3128 and 3129 sought.
As far as I know, only the first one, W.Nr. 3122 has a known Stkz. (GA+MT). Thanks, in advance, |

Thank you, Peter, for the information.
I was already aware that these aircraft were planned to be delivered to Hungary in April 1940, but only two reached eventually Hungary. But which ones? |

Dénes
According to Volker Koos WNr 3109 to 3128 were to be delivered to Hungary. Only the last two WNr 3127-3128 were delivered as He 111 U (this was an internal Heinkel designation and not an official RLM one) Also according to him there was no WNr 3129, 3128 was the last one in that batch. Thanks, Stig, for the info. I presume U was short of Ungarn. Was Herr Koos' quoted statement published somewhere?
I learned that W.Nr. 3127 was assigned to EHF in July 1940, with Stkz. GA+MY. Does EHF mean Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugwerke? I could not find any info (nor any Stkz.) for 3128 and 3129, only temporary civilian ferry codes. That's why my suspicion that those might have been the two P-2s actually delivered to Hungary. |

Hi Dénes
Yes, the info is from an article in Jet and Prop some years ago. EHF was Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugwerke in Rostock-Marienehe. It was manufactured appx in June 1940. I also checked my other sources regarding this batch and the STKZ assigned to 3109 to 3127 was GA+MG to GA+MY. Seems pretty likely (but not confirmed!) that 3128 was given the STKZ GA+MZ. What is your source that WNr 3129 was built? Cheers Stig |

I sent this document of the RLM (see below) a few years ago to Volker. This is the source of his information.
Source is the Archive of the Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt). There are much more documents about export to Hungary and other countries. Regards Peter |

Thank you, Mr. Achs, for sharing the original source of the information with us. Now the planned deliveries are pretty clear. However, it would be very nice to know which two He 111Ps actually reached Hungary in mid-1940. I suspected one of them might have been W.Nr. 3128, because I could not find any trace of it in Luftwaffe service (for all the others, except for 3122 and 3127, there is a history in Luftwaffe, but both of these received Stammkennzeichen). Also, as I've understood, W.Nr. 3129, D-AXVK, might also be planned to be shipped to Hungary, but have no proof of it.
Thank you, again, for your help, |

Thanks Peter
Nice to see there is 'spare room' for some Heinkels in your life as well...:) Dénes It would be interesting to know from where your WNr 3129 and civil register comes from. Cheers Stig |
