F/O Ian Samuel, 206 Sqn Ditching 06/43

Adrian Christopher Ian Samuel, more commonly known as Ian Samuel a former diplomat who joined the RAF and flew with 206 Sqn on Fortresses and Liberators in Coastal Command.

"Soon afterwards Samuel converted to the Liberator, and in June he was escorting an Atlantic convoy when he was forced to ditch. He managed to land close to a destroyer, and he and his crew were soon picked up."

Does anyone know that date before I pull the ORB page ?

Seems 206 converted to Libs in April 1944 ?

Hi Andy,

Date and type is correct, just squadron is wrong.

No.86 Sqn and the destroyer was from Force H.
