how many of Bernhard Vechtel's 108 kills were scored in the Fw190 ?

I would say that a quite small amount but at least five definitely. IV./JG 51 converted from the Bf 109 F-2 to the Fw 190 A-4 in January 1943 and converted from the Fw 190 A-4, A-5 and A-6 to the Bf 109 G-2 and G-6 in July 1943. During this time he claimed five victories. IV./JG 51 began conversion to the Fw 190 A-8 on 20 March 1945 for what I have read and apparently he claimed his 100th victory on 25 March 1945 so it might be that he claimed another eight or so victories with the type in the last weeks of the war.

Hello Leo,

you're right. Out of his first 100 kills 95 in Bf109 and 5 in Fw190.
Can anybody provide the dates of his last 8 kills ?

...I've asked Russ Fahey for the dates of Bernhard Vechtel's kills #92-99 but he doesn't know either...
