Seeking ID of Crashed Bf110 "B" during WC, Belgium or France
Hello,
Very little to go on here, except Bf110 tail, power pylon and perhaps unusual road surface edge for country where it happened--Belgium or France. Perhaps a large factory or building of some kind in the distant background at far right of first photo. http://www.ebay.at/itm/X712-abgescho...8AAOSw~gRV03YC http://www.ebay.at/itm/X710-abgescho...8AAOSwyQtV03X5 http://www.ebay.at/itm/X711-abgescho...EAAOSwPcVV03X8 Any ideas for ID? |

Evgeny,
Hello to you and thanx. I hope you aren't freezing to death in the "Polar North." I should have recognized these photos as I have the crew grave and other copies of these in the photo DB. You are absolutely correct in this identification. According to the Revised EoE LW Loss DB: "22 May 1940 Western Front Amend: 1./ZG1 Messerschmitt Bf110C. Shot down by fighters 7km south-east of Lille and crashed alongside the road to Roubaix at Lesquin. FF Uffz Heinz Walter and BF Obergefr Georg Rothenberger both killed. Aircraft 2N+DH 100% write-off. (Vasco)." Some EoE researchers that the underwing code us a "B" instead of "D," so that might have to be changed. Regards, |

Hello,
Regarding my comment at the end of my last email, it is now known from another photo that the code of this a/c was 2N+DH, vice 2N+BH, as I suggested. |
