Unknown Aircraft
From E-BAy.de. On the back of the photo is the date, October 18,1944.
It looks like a multi engine A/C with passenger windows. |
Re: Unknown Aircraft
Possibly a DC-3, although the rear door seems a bit small. Or C-46.

Re: Unknown Aircraft
It looks like the passenger door of a civilian DC-3, not the large doors of a C-47
|
Re: Unknown Aircraft
I agree with the number of windows present and the small cargo door. Just looking at some C-46 data and it seems to fit a bit better.
Vince... PS: It's that small odd shaped door that bothers me :-( |
Re: Unknown Aircraft
I know, I looked at some photos for small doors on DC-3s and found a few but the door does not fit. The DC-3 doors are rounded on top but squarish on the bottom

Re: Unknown Aircraft
To my eyes, a CANT Z1007bis
|
Re: Unknown Aircraft
I'd say spot on based upon the attached drawing by Vincent Bourgulgnon of 172 Squadriligia Belgium 1940.

Re: Unknown Aircraft
Looks like we have a winner. Thanks to all for their quick iD

Re: Unknown Aircraft
I'd agree based on that evidence. I found the eBay listing, is anyone's deciphering of German better than mine to see what the text says on the back?
