Re: Unallocated NAGr NCOs
Andy,
Otto Bosau, - some of his documents, photo’s and Ehrenpokal were on sale on the internet a while back. The actual award date for his DKG was 20.08.1944. He is shown as a member of 6.(H)/32(Pz) which became 3./NAGr 4 on 01.03.1943. He was awarded the Ehrenpokal on 06.10.1942. Emil Kern’s documents were also on sale on the internet. The actual award date for the DKG is 10.09.1944. He’s shown as being a member of 4.(H)/10 which became 1./NAGr 2 on 01.03.1943. He has the full set of awards up to DKG (EKII, EKI, FFSiB, FFSiS, FFSiG, EP, DKG and Wound badge). Anton-Josef Mader – this on can be confusing, there is a Ofw Josef Mader (KIA 28.08.44) and a Fw Anton- Josef Mader (died 02.02.1945) as well as the fighter Ace Obstlt Anton Mader (survived). There seems to be some mixing of details between these, especially the first two. From what I can make out Josef was 1./NAGr 4 (01.03.1943 this was formed from 3(H)/13) and NAGr 11, while Anton Josef was 5(H)./11 which became 1./NAGr 8 on 01.02.44. This is not definitive but it’s something to be aware of. Wilhelm Py is in the Kracker files – WIA 05.12.43 Bf109G (15893) White 2 at Slobin, 1./NAGr 4 Max Voglhuber was WIA 20.09.1942 by enemy fighters near Kutloban as an Ogefr 2.(H)/41 (later disbanded in Jan 43) – his pilot (name unknown) was unhurt. He was awarded Ehrenpokal 17.04.44. Regards, Craig… |
Re: Unallocated NAGr NCOs
Craig,
Many thanks for all of the additional info. I had forgotten about the Kracker files - I will need to look at them as well. |
