Hey guys...

I am trying to find info on an He219, with the last digits of the werk being "4381"

I am assuming that is 194381 or 294381?

Any thoughts on this?

Hi Mike,

I checked my reference and according to 'A research paper' from R.F. Ferguson there was no Heinkel He219 with the werknummer 4381, 381 or even 81 for that matter. Could you provide some more info on where you found this number?

Doesn't look correct.
The closest I have seen are the five D-1s numbered 420371-75

Basically,

A wreck was discovered, and on the inside of two of the hatches, this number is written.

This was common practice for many factories...Junkers also did this quite frequently...

4381 is not a regular He219 Werkenummer, my database of He219 Werkenummer is quite conclusive about this. Please send me a PM, because the location of the wreck might lead to the correct Werkenummer.

Rémi: the He219 wreck found at Hirtshals/Denmark has been sold to an Austrian company which has a bad track record of restaurations.
