Archibald Harrington (410 SQN) Claims
Hello,
I have question about two A. A. Harrington´s Mosquito claims from these dates: on 26./27.9.1944 Ju 87 near Aachen on 29./30.10.1944 Fw 190 near Venlo Knows someone crews of this planes or units form which they can be? Thanks for your answer and help! Michal |
Re: Archibald Harrington (410 SQN) Claims
Ju 87: this came from NSG 2 but Christian Möller found no further details, so inferred that the crew survived and returned to their unit.
Fw. 190: identified by Chris Goss as probably Ofw. Walter Brune of III./KG 51 (although the unit lost a second Fw 190 that night). |
Re: Archibald Harrington (410 SQN) Claims
Dear Nick, thank you very much for answer and info!
One last question to Harrington. On 18./19.6.1944 he claimed Ju 88 near Vire. Is there some known Luftwaffe losses? Regards Michal |
Re: Archibald Harrington (410 SQN) Claims
Precise matches over Normandy are very difficult as there were so many & German crash locations rarely noted as they were behind Allied lines. However, without trawling NVMs, I cannot say at this time how many were lost this night & from which unit

Thanks Chris for answer! Yes, there is lot of Ju 88 losses. Only this night RAF claimed 4 Ju 88 (all in similar time and place).
