Jg51 1940
Hi guys
Here's one for the expertern - apparently in early May 1940 (shortly before the invasion of the Low Countries), a Bf109 from JG51 erroneously shot down a FW58 in which General von Doring was a passenger - the general was wounded in the buttocks, and his adjutant Hptm Harkekon sustain a minor head injury. Has anyone any further information on this incident? Actual date? Circumstances? Location? Errant JG51 pilot identity? I am sure someone has the answer out there. Thanks in advance. Cheers Brian |
