Anyone know the names of the 5 crew killed in the following crash:
Zerst.KG30, on 05.07.1940.
Junkers Ju88C. Engine failure and crashed at Ludwigslust, Germany. Aircraft a write-off.

What are your sources for 5 killed. Usual Ju 88 C-1 crew was three, and GQM lists only three?

Thank you for the information Ed. My source is from the Luftwaffe loss records kept at the Imperial War Museum.
Scheinwerferflug = light flight??

Just so Ed. But I get the impression that srob48 is trawling through some unfamiliar source material.

1.(Z)/KG30 Junkers Ju88C-1 (0126). Crashed at Karstädt, near Perleberg, due to engine failure during searchlight affiliation flight. FF Uffz Michael Wurm, BF Obergefr Otto Klapp, and BS Gefr Johannes Musfeld all killed. Aircraft 4D+PZ 90% damaged – write-off.
This unit was operating as 4./NJG1 and in course of re-designation.

Peter, The Bf is Obgefr Otto Klopp, not Klapp. Confirmed by the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge. Buried in Düsseldorf. Unfortunately, they have no record for Uffz. Michael Wurm or Gefr. Johannes Husfeld (or Musfeld). Perhaps they were the 2 crewman that baled out?

Yes, excuse typo. NVM confirms he was KLOPP also that all three were killed & their bodies returned to their home addresses for burial. The NVM was signed by Oberlt Siegfried WANDAM Gruppe Adjutant of I./ZG1 indicating the re-alignment of (Z)KG30 taking place at that time.

Part II of the NVM shows the home addresses to which they were returned so presumably burials were in those areas. The graves may not be administered by the VDK.

Flight with searchlights, so probably an exercise to help train searchlight crews, I'd think.

Or training fresh night-fighter crew in avoiding same, I think
