Long Range DO-215 lost Sochy /Livardia

Can anyone help to locate a DO-215 from one of the
121 Long Range Lufwaffe recon groups lost over or shot down
South of Sochi as far as Livardia sometime in between
April through Sept 1942.

Are you talking about Sotchi at the Black sea coast?

The only loss of a Do 215 in that time range happened on 11.07.42 between Millerowo and Starobelsk, which is some 700km away from your location.

Aufklärungsgruppe 121 never operated the Do 215, so either unit or aircraft type is incorrect

Yes Sochi and this u've mentioned is T5+NM (2F) which is out of question. To make a long story short the Ebay seller posted the attached photo. It seems to be a DO-215 , judging by the uniforms it must have happened sometime spring or end of summer 1942 because by 1941 the German troops may not be yet there. 3. (F) 121 did operate DO-215 you are wrong !

Hello researcher111,

on the left pic we see a Bramo 323, so no Do 215(DB 601).

I am no specialist for WWII aero engines and if you say so than
I may go for it, if no DO 215 what was then the aircraft type
coze I can't associate this very much to a DO-17 .

Danke fuer die Gruesse

PS : 1. according the cockpit upper antenna yes a DO-17
2. Any idea when Whermacht & Romanians occupied Livardia ?

Danke im Voraus

Re: Long Range DO-215 lost Sochy /Livardia

According paint could be well a Romanian DO 17 , as into your Pvt mail there is a book
called " Ein Blick in die Vergangenheit " is indicating all details and losses of
the Gruppe 121 which operated beside other types also DO-215 .

Yes I have that book. We apparently interpret the content differently which is fine.

On your previous post you stated 121 did not operate DO-215 when in fact they did what is the issue then ?
