A new Ta 152 H picture
1 Attachment(s)
Hi there Gang,
Beyond the blown-up wreck of Fw 190 D-9 W.Nr. 400278 "Weisse ?" of 12./JG 26, you will see the unique silhouette of a Ta 152 H wing...a new to me picture. The shot does show Fl.Lt. Jan-Adam Smigielski, 306 Sqn, who is the source for this unique picture. Any ideas about the location, any details known ? http://www.ingridpittfanclub.com/cat...ighter-pilots/ Cheers Marc |

Hello guys, I found interesting /at least for me is new/ picture of Fw190D-9 WNr.400278. This should be a 3rd know picture of first production batch of 120 aircraft build by Arbeitsgemeinschaft Roland. source: Japo Fw190D camouflage and markings vol.II page 218. http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/fo...9172_thumb.jpg source: http://www.ingridpit...ter-pilots.html I would like ask, if in the background is wreck of Fw190D or Ta152H? The wing looks like is from Ta152 but engine looks like it´s from Fw190D-9 - according to L shaped coolant tank on the engine block. What do you think guys?

Here is a larger grab of the photo, but it unfortunately loses much of the sharpness and detail as a result: http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/fo...0967_thumb.jpg Source: http://www.ingridpit...ter-pilots.html The wing belonging to the wreck in the background certainly has something of the Ta152H about it... You will have seen it probably: ex JG26. I remember Urbankes JG26 book and pictures of destroyed aircraft. Have to look further to see if I can get some more info. Very Best regards Philippe

Above mentioned should also exclude Ta152 , but who am I to put such a statement? I'll try to verify once at home. Best regards Philippe Edited by Peter Evans LEMB Admin, 10 September 2012 - 12:46 PM. Abbreviation error corrected

I've checked Urbanke's excellent "Green Hearts, First in Combat with the Dora 9" [EagleEditions, 1997] but could find no mention of WNr.400278. The only WNr.400xxx series examples listed in the extensive loss are:

I just checked in the WNr. list contained in Larger, Deboeck and Poruba ( 2007): Fw190D, Camouflage and markings, Volume II, JaPo editions, p. 454: no mention either... Thanks Tomas, you gave us one more Fw190D-9 http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/fo...fault/cool.png) Marc Edited by Peter Evans LEMB Admin, 10 September 2012 - 04:13 PM. Thank you guys, I appreciate your interest. Because I am fool, I forgot mention in 1st post, that I already checked both J.Crandall and Japo volumes on Fw190D without success. I don't own this book "Green Hearts, First in Combat with Dora 9" - so thank you for checking this source, Peter. |
Re: A new Ta 152 H picture
Sincerely indebted, Michiel.
Thanks again for your help Marc |
Re: A new Ta 152 H picture
Just wondering if we should carefully edit posts of posts to remove all of the unnecessary blocking and formatting, i.e., #6 above, thereby preserving the look and integrity of our threads and archives.
