Is there any indication that Jagdwaffe used captured Soviet fighters in combats?
 

Hi, Gentlemen!

I have collected lots of records from Soviet side that German units used captured Soviet planes (mostly Yaks) on different combat missions. I suppose that some of this occasions are friendly fire incidents, but at the same time other records seem to be trustworthy. In this case my question is as follows: does anybody come across German documents or records indicating the usage of Soviet planes by Germans in combats, recon missions and etc.? If yes, then what period and sector of Eastern front it was?
I should say that the most vivid case of capturing Soviet fighters in the flying condition was mistake landing of four Yak-1s from 291 IAP on the Taganrog field on April 17, 1943. After this some pilots flying sorties in the Kuban area reported meeting with Yak-1s with German markings. Moreover, on April 29, 1943 Emil Bitsch claimed R-5 in the vicinity of Rostov area. In fact it was U-2 and the pilot of shot down biplane stated that he was engaged by Yak-1, wearing German camouflage and markings...
Cases of meeting Yaks with unknown markings emerged now and again in Soviet documents during Donbass battle (summer-autumn 1943), Crimea operations (1944)...

Remembering Pokryshkin who also stated a german Yak-1 that shoot at soviet planes. One day all yaks were forbidden to take off and german yak was catched by others (P-39 i.e.).
