Bobmer crashed near Saint Jean d'Angely 1943 or 44 (Charente-Maritime)

I'm polish journalist and I'm writing a book about Tony Halik. He was polish adventurer, journalist of NBC and Life Magazine and later the star of polish tv . He used different names during his life: Mieczyslaw, Max, Antonio, Tony.
Here short notice in Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Halik
(It 'snt true that he was a fighter pilot in No. 201 Squadron of British RAF; in spring 1944; he deserted from the Wehrmacht and joined the French partisans)
But the people in small French village La Folatiere, close to Saint Jean d'Angely (Charente-Maritime) rememmber that he dropped there by parachute in 1943, maybe 1944. Thay remember that he jumped from the bomber that crashed there. And that the another ones soldiers from this bomber were Canadians.
I don't know if it true and I'm trying to confirm it. Do you know anything about crashed plains near La Folatiere (about 1943-44)? Was it Canadian, British and maybe German bomber?
Regards,
Miroslaw
