eBay, one Bf109 and one Fw190 found in Northern Africa

Hi Gents,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-US-GI-P...d=152066876519

... Looks like the same place. I suppose it's Bizerte/Karouba or Bizerte/Sidi Ahmed. Unfortunately these two codes - White 12 and 15 - aren't in Prien among the long list of JG53 machines found there.

Maybe Andrew Arthy can help?

Regards, Franck.

Not sure about One-O-Nine but Fw190 seems to be "9" - possibly yellow?

Milos,
I do not see any code details on the Fw190, but could there be a yellow "D" instead? The white spinner cap and no marking at all could point towards SKG10.

Maybe Roger Gaemperle would be able to identify this, referring to his posting at LEMB on January 27, 2014. This could be, what he was looking for then...

When I look now - It's rather number 2 than 9. but the compression of ebay images is insane & really makes things on these already imperfectly scanned images so pixelated that it hurts.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to LEMB any more... Was hunting for Peter to allow me access it (cannot remember my old password) and I was not visiting there for 8 years at least.

Considering white spinner & white fuselage band it could easily be SKG10 mount. They used to carry both of these things... And machine looks like earlier model of 190s too, and that aligns with A-4s that SKG10 was using there.

RogerG was in LEMB looking for photos of Fw190A-5/U-3, WNr.(150) 1257, yellow "D" of II./SchG2, making an only slightely damaging belly landing at or near La Sabela AF, Tunesia, 2 or 4 May 1943. This crashed a/c must have still been in rather good/ complete condition when found by the allies, possibely already salvaged on La Sabela AF.
In that connection, he also mentioned the wreck of an unmarked SKG10 Fw190A-5, WNr.0155869, that must have also been on La Sabela AF.
