Interesting Halifax Mk II freighter -1944

Slightly blurry shot of a Halifax Mk II or Mk. V, with Merlin engines and the early triangular fin, taken at Italy in 1944. Notice the cargo pannier , which is huge compared to the postwar version. Not much of a ground clearance!
Does anyone have more information on this rare bird?
