Oblt Wolf-Dietrich Wilcke 7./JG 53, 18 May 40
 

At about 1615 hrs on this date, the above was shot down (probably by GC II/4) near Rethel and captured. Does anyone have any clues as to a more accurate location (and I am aware of what it says in BofF T&N)

I don't think Wilcke is the guy your looking for. He seems to have made no official claims between 25th March 1940 and 31st August 1940, moreover he was shot down and captured on the date you mention.

One option is that his claim was not confirmed as no paperwork was submitted, due to his lack of freedom!

My question is about him being shot down on that date; he made no claims as you quite rightly say
