Hptm Wolf-Dietrich Wilcke III./JG 53 12 Aug 40
 

Wilcke had just assumed temporary command of III Gruppe when on a mission looking for his successor on the afternoon of 12 Aug 40, his aircraft suffered engine failure and he baled out south of the Isle of Wight. He was picked up by a Do 18 that night but can anyone say from what unit the Do 18 came?
