I've only just received this and have only looked at the DB-3/Il-4 and Il-2 sections. There doesn't seem to be much new info provided and the Il-2 data appears to be condensed from the authors book on that aircraft.

Hard, really, to assess its value, but I do value the chance to double-check the information in earlier books on these aircraft.

How about paper quality, photo reproduction quality, text density (I prefer small print, around 8-9 pt)?

There are lots of B/W photos on glossy paper. The text is small and I wouldn't say that the text is secondary to the photos. The photos are generally crisp. There's a small section of color photos, generally of the post-war aircraft and some museum aircraft.
