Allied claims august '44

Hi
Where can i find some info about allied claims?
I'm investigating a me110 g4 crash in Mol / Balen, Belgium. August 30 1944.
According to a source the me110 was shot down bij thunderbolts...
Thanks!

Hello Win,
Could find nothing for the 30th
However the29th
The 353rdFG lost two P47's.
One was lost as a result of attacking an enemy airfield, one of the aircraft the target on the ground exploded.
The pilot Captain William D. Smith was buried on the 30th
Perhaps this is the e/a that you mention ?
On the 30th 8thAAF had only P51 who it seems made no claims.

There were no air or ground claims by any 8th or 9th AF unit on August 30. The 9th did not operate at all, the 8th had missions supporting bombers to V-1 sites in Calais (one group) and to the Kiel and Bremen areas. On August 28 Lt. Ruscitto of the 353rd Fighter Group claimed two Me 110's destroyed near Wavre, otherwise nothing else on 110's.

Hi,

3 different persons (eyewitnesses) told me the same story. They told me it was in late summer (one of them was bringing a pumpkin tho his grandfather). 14 days later in september the area was liberated.

It is about Bf 480113, probably he was on the run for the upcomming allies.
He was in the ERLA in Brussels. The crash on august 30th 1944 is the only known fact for 480113. (two different researchers gave me confirmation).

The Me 110 was flown by Ofw Christian Asperger and obergefreiter Josef Kauer, 1./Fl.UG 1 West.

regards,
Wim
