Luftwaffe planes that accidently landed on the Allied side

Reading Luftwaffe crash archive volumes I noticed that there were a fair amount of Luftwaffe planes that accidently landed in GB during the war.

Does any one know of this also occurring in Italy/North Africa? I have not heard of any but it must of happened.

I think there was a Rumanian Ju88 that flew to Italy.

Uffz. René Darbois of JG4 defected his Bf109G to Americans at Santa Maria, Italy. He was Alsatian and forcibly recruited, so his landing was not accidently.
The plane is now in Washington with III./JG27 markings.

The Ju88 was a defector, and flew (as I understand it) to Egypt. It is the one now in the US.

I suspect that there were rather fewer opportunities for confusion/deliberate deception leading to accidental landings outside of the UK.

The most notable case I recall is the unit of Italian Ju87s that ran short of fuel and landed behind British lines in the desert.
