Bomber Command Routes
Can anyone point me to where I might find the routes flown by bomber command. I know the main force routes can be found in the night raid reports, but they don't contain the details of supporting operations (except sometimes on the maps - I'm looking for the written course if possible). I've looked at the operational orders and some group and squadron ORB's, but all the orders contain under the route section is "as broadcast" and I've found nothing in the ORB's.
Any assistance appreciated. Rgds Pete |

Re: Bomber Command Routes
Air 14/3123 contains the routes for Bomber Command in August 1944. You will be able to find routes in the files in the same series.

Re: Bomber Command Routes
Pete,
One of the main RV points for Bomber Command was Reading in Berkshire, using the main GWR and Southern Region Terminus and Junction of River Thames and River Kennet as a marker point before going out on various routes. Andy Bird |
Re: Bomber Command Routes
Dear Andy,
Do you perhaps have information for the PFF routes flown on the evening of 20th December 1942 ? The relevant raid track map shows routes for 1, 3, 4 and 5 Group RAF Bomber Command. PFF took part in this Duisburg raid with 156, 83 and 35 Sqdn.RAF. Many thanks in advance, best regards, Marcel |
