RAF victory confirmation

How did the RAF confirm the victories (kills) achieved by their fighter pilots?

Was it as strict a process as that of the Luftwaffe e.g. were eyewitness reports needed from a second party in addition to viewing gun camera footage?

Thanks

Re: RAF victory confirmation

Compilation of a combat report between pilot and Intelligence Officer, the latter deciding exactly what the pilot would claim or not. Nowhere near as stringent as the Luftwaffe whose reports could go to a number of pages
