Heinkel factory, two Soviet photos
2 Attachment(s)
Dear forum members! There are two photos that was captioned as: Heinkel plant, 1945. A man with Hero of the Soviet Union Gold Star on his breast and his comrades pose in front of German airplane, any chance to identify it? To me looks like Ju88, is this correct?
Thanks in advance! Best regards, Alexander |

Re: Heinkel factory, two Soviet photos
4-blade prop, wheel cover on the outboard portion of the wing, narrow-chord Balkenkreuz - definitely a He 177.

Re: Heinkel factory, two Soviet photos
As the caption to these photos states "Heinkel plant", they might have been taken either at Rostock-Marienehe or, more likely, Oranienburg.
The Arado plant in Brandenburg is also a possibility. Most He 177s were built either in Oranienburg or Brandenburg. However, as their production ceased long before the end of the war, these pictures could have been taken basically anywhere...(Flugzeugwerke Eger/Cheb are also a good possibility. Many He 177s were rebuilt or upgraded there) Cheers, Christian |

The camou on this He 177 is Night Fighter style. Note no codes.
