Bombs dropped over Powys - October 1940

Hi,

Went to visit my in-laws in mid Wales last week and was asked if I could discover who dropped two seemingly large bombs over Dolanog - 17 miles north East of Welshpool on the night of 27th October 1940. These were said to have exploded near to a farm house around 10:30 p.m.

Have looked on the internet but cannot find any information there.

Can anyone suggest information or resources?

Rick

Rick
There was an attack on Liverpool/Birkenhead that night by II & III./LG 1, II & III./KG 27 and KGr 606 amongst others. The times meet with the attack of LG 1 who failed to bomb the target due to weather so it is possible that they jettisoned on their way back
