first burial location Hptm. Geiger, St.Kpt. 7./NJG1?

Dear all,

Who can tell me where and on which date Hptm. August Geiger, St.Kpt. 7./NJG1 (KIA 29-30 September 1943) was first buried?

Thanks for any info,

Theo

Hi Theo,
As Geiger is buried at Ysselsteyn, Frau Kalbhenn at the VDK may have this info, her email is beate.kalbhenn@volksbund.de

Theo,

Hptm. Geiger was transferred from Ehrenfriedhof "Zijpendaal" near Arnhem to Ysselstyen.
I do not know if this was his first grave.

Thanks chaps for confirming these details; my reason for asking is that I recently obtained a series of photos taken during the burial ceremories for Geiger, which will be published in the NJWD 2nd ed.

Cheers, Theo
